The aim of the project was to technically develop and validate an operating principle for grid-aware, collective control of hybrid heat pumps at low-voltage level. By combining large numbers of heat pumps into a digital collective, we were able to gather insights at both appliance and household level. This creates opportunities to improve heat pump performance while contributing to the flexibility and stability of the electricity grid.
