    N.t.b.

  • The MOOI subsidy (System Integration) is aimed at developing and stimulating innovative projects in the field of energy, energy conservation and climate.
  • The subsidy is intended for innovation in industry, the built environment or electricity.
  • The MOOI System Integration mission aims to support innovation projects that contribute to the integration of large-scale renewable electricity generation into the energy system and that lead to initial application in the Netherlands within ten years of the project launch.
  • The mission is divided into three innovation themes that, in addition to large-scale renewable electricity generation, represent the links in the energy system: transport & distribution, storage & conversion, and large-scale use.
  • You can apply for the scheme as a partnership of at least 3 organizations, such as companies, knowledge institutions and organizations such as housing or energy cooperatives.
  • To be eligible for the MOOI grant, you must collaborate on the concrete development of complete, innovative solutions that contribute to climate objectives.
  • When assessing subsidy applications, consideration is given to technical feasibility, contribution to the energy transition, and potential impact on climate objectives.

Goal: Accelerate energy transition

The MOOI grant aims to stimulate the development of innovations that will contribute significantly and on time to the 2050 climate goals. The idea is that partnerships bring together different specializations and perspectives. Therefore, you are only eligible for the MOOI grant if you are a partnership consisting of at least three organizations.

For: innovation  in  energy, energy saving and climate

Projects are eligible if they are working on a comprehensive, innovative solution that contributes to energy and climate goals for electricity, buildings, or industry. In addition, your future project must focus on practical implementation of the solution, taking into account technical, social, and other factors that increase its chances of success.

Provided by the RVO

You must submit your application for the MOOI subsidy to the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO.nl). Subsidy applications are assessed based on criteria such as technical feasibility, project quality, collaboration quality, contribution to the energy transition, and potential impact.

It’s important that your project scores as highly as possible on the established criteria. The MOOI is a tender program, meaning you’re competing with all other applicants.

Variable amount determined annually

The total budget for the MOOI subsidy is determined annually by the government. The same applies to the missions, which can vary from year to year. In 2025, the MOOI subsidy will focus on the integration of large-scale renewable electricity generation into the energy system.
