Applications are possible as long as budget is available. Applications are processed in order of receipt. The earlier you submit, the higher the chance of receiving a grant.
The DHI consists of four types of projects:
- Demonstration project: demonstrating abroad that your product or service is successful, economically viable, and directly applicable for foreign customers and partners.
- Feasibility study: proving the technical and economic feasibility of a product or service and convincing foreign customers to invest.
- Investment preparation project: investigating and substantiating the feasibility of establishing a production facility abroad, including a concrete investment plan.
- Market validation (new in 2026): exploring opportunities, risks, and market entry options in a new foreign market, together with a local expert.
Key conditions
- Maximum of one DHI subsidy per project type at the same time
- Only for Dutch SMEs with legal entity status
- The project must be economically and substantively well-founded
