Objective: Stimulate innovation and knowledge development

These projects must have both economic and social impact and contribute to a smarter, greener, and more social Northern Netherlands .

Applications for the Valorization SNN grant can be submitted through the official website of the SNN. The application process is a two-step process: a pre-application, where you’ll receive feedback, and then the final application. The program operates on a first-come, first-served basis , with the date your application is completed determining how the budget is allocated . Collaboration is not mandatory, but it is encouraged and rewarded with a higher subsidy percentage to strengthen the northern innovation ecosystem.
Financing determined per project
- The subsidy amounts to a minimum of €100,000 and a maximum of €350,000 per project .
- The subsidy percentage is standard 35% and can increase to a maximum of 50% of the eligible costs, depending on the collaboration with other companies and/or knowledge institutions .
- A maximum of €200,000 in subsidies can be awarded per project partner .
- When collaborating with other companies, none of the partners may bear more than 70% of the total project costs .
- After the start, an advance of 30% of the granted subsidy can be requested; in total, a maximum of 95% can be paid as an advance .
- Eligible costs include wage costs (via various methods), depreciation costs, contributions in kind and third-party costs .
- The amount of the subsidy and the eligible costs are assessed against the applicable European (EFRO, national (REES 2021) and state aid rules .
