Goal: assessing the feasibility of integrating a wireless digital auscultation device with a telemedicine platform
Improving remote diagnostics.
Public healthcare systems aim to provide universal coverage. However, challenges remain in ensuring low-threshold access to care, especially for people living in rural areas and lower socio-economic groups. Urban centres usually offer more extensive healthcare facilities and resources, while rural regions often face significant obstacles. Examples include a shortage of healthcare professionals and long travel distances to clinics and hospitals. These factors can result in delays in receiving care, negatively impacting the health of people in less accessible areas. Providing remote care is crucial to address this challenge.
Lapsi Health’s Healthcare Enhancements through Auscultation Reinvention (HEAR) project addresses the problem of limited access to high-quality healthcare at a distance.
Remote care
By integrating a wireless digital auscultation device with a telemedicine platform, real-time audio streaming of bodily sounds becomes possible, enhancing the diagnostic options, accuracy, and efficiency of remote care. Auscultation allows a physician to listen to sounds within the body, such as the heart and lungs.
The collaboration between Lapsi Health and a partner from South America strengthens this improved diagnostic system. Together, they are jointly developing and implementing this groundbreaking technology.
The Innowwide subsidy is essential to set up thorough market research, enabling further improvements to the technology of their wireless digital auscultation product, called Keikku.
This is what Enablemi did
We directed and submitted the Innowwide application for Lapsi Health. In this project, there was collaboration with a foreign partner from Uruguay. In addition to bringing these partners together and setting up the project, Enablemi wrote a successful application, ensuring the client was relieved of as much of the application process as possible.
Top three applications
Did you know our application finished second out of more than 105 submissions? The Innowwide scheme is a tender-based programme in which you compete with other applicants. Finishing second is a remarkable achievement.

De win-win-impact van Lapsi Health
Remote care improves accessibility and quality of healthcare while contributing to economic, social, and environmental objectives. It reduces costs and the strain on the healthcare system, expands the reach of care providers, and lowers barriers such as travel time and costs for patients—especially in remote areas. This leads to better health outcomes, diminishes inequality, and further lowers CO₂ emissions through fewer travel movements. In short, it creates added value for all stakeholders.
With this project, Lapsi Health has established an international partnership with a party that provides the necessary platform for delivering remote healthcare. By investigating the feasibility of this concept and exploring the foreign market, Lapsi Health is taking significant steps toward enabling high-quality remote care.
